Dr. Adrian Ruiz is an acclaimed trumpeter, educator, and recording artist based in San Antonio, Texas. Active internationally, he has performed at major festivals including Montreux, North Sea, Guatemala, and Taichung, and has appeared throughout the U.S. A 2021 Grammy nominee for Live at the Paramount with the Ruthie Foster Big Band, Ruiz has shared the stage with an extraordinary range of artists spanning jazz, blues, pop, and rock, including Norah Jones, Gary Clark Jr., Clark Terry, Eddie Palmieri, The Temptations, and The Who. A dedicated educator and clinician, Ruiz has presented at JEN, TMEA, and TBA conferences and serves as Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Jazz Studies at St. Mary’s University. His debut album as a leader, Premiere: A Collection of Originals, was praised by jazz historian Scott Yanow as “creative jazz that is easily recommended.” A Schilke Artist since 2017, Dr. Ruiz holds degrees from UT San Antonio, Texas State University, and the University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Aaron Prado is a pianist, composer, educator, and radio personality based in San Antonio, Texas. Prado received a Doctorate of Musical Arts in piano performance at the University of Texas at Austin’s Butler School of Music in 2014. Prior to doctoral study, Prado attended Columbia University for undergraduate study and New York University for a Master’s Degree. From 2003-2009, Prado was Music Director and announcer at Trinity University’s jazz radio station – KRTU 91.7FM – and is currently the host of “Aaron Prado Presents” – heard Sundays 2:00-4:00 p.m. In 2011, Prado debuted his “San Antonio Jazz Suite” – a large-scale composition scored for big band, string quartet, and narration depicting the story of San Antonio. In 2015, Prado published a book of transcriptions of solo recordings by jazz pianist Bill Evans (published by Hal Leonard). In 2018, Prado received the Paul Elizondo Grant for the Performing Arts from The Artist Foundation of San Antonio to compose a concert work called “The Hero’s Journey” and the piece premiered at Luminaria 2018 at the Instituto Cultural de Mexico. In 2019, Prado released two new CDs “Live at Jazz, TX” with his sextet and a trio album of original music titled “And Now…” Prado has collaborated frequently with San Antonio’s Musical Bridges Around the World organization. Mostly recently Musical Bridges commissioned Prado to compose a piece – “El Colibri y La Cempasuchil” – for the 2024 Gurwitz International Piano Competition. Prado is Associate Professor of Music at Northwest Vista College and performs regularly in the South Texas area with his ensembles.

Featuring compositions and arrangements by Hiromi Uehara and Theresa Chen, this show presents how Hiromi shaped Theresa's musical taste today, how jazz later became a big deal in Asian countries, and what made Theresa pursue jazz as her American dream. Theresa is a well-rounded musician with many dualistic characteristics—being a Taiwanese and American, playing classical and jazz, and being a Gemini. Currently active in Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and the Rio Grande Valley area, she is a performing educator (or the other way around) filled with a flaming passion for music. She hopes to strengthen the tie between the jazz scenes in South Texas by cultivating musicians for the next generations. Theresa serves as an assistant professor of jazz studies at Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK). She has given clinics, lectures, and masterclasses in Taiwan and the United States. She released her first jazz album, Whispering to God, in July 2022. She has shared the stage with famous jazz artists such as Gary Smulyan, Diego Rivera, Ingrid Jensen, Dave Liebman, Bria Skonberg, Boris Kozlov, Allison Miller, Chien-Chien Lu, Nathan Graybeal (Saxologic), Gerry Gibbs, and Scott Wendholt.

Anthony Caceres, a native of San Antonio has warm and friendly voice, a swinging style, and the desire to create fresh renditions of superior material, whether it is standards of the past, his originals, or performing current pop tunes into jazz. He is also one of the few artists around today who is very comfortable singing and playing the string bass at the same time. In addition he is also a multi-instrumentalist who also plays piano and guitar. Anthony received his Jazz Studies degree from the University Of North Texas in Jazz Bass in 2003, since then he has recorded and toured with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and has recorded with jazz luminaries Drummers Jeff Hamilton,Joe Fransworth and Sebastian Whittaker, Pianists Stefan Karlsson and Tamir Hendelman and Pamela York. He is the first bassist in the family, one can trace Anthony’s musical genes to his grandfather jazz violinist Emilio Caceres who played swing and Latin music and appeared on Benny Goodmans radio show and his great-uncle Ernie Caceres also who appeared with trombonist Jack Teagarden and the original Glenn Miller Orchestra. As a leader Anthony has recorded his own albums such as Don’t Call It Love (2011), Crooner (2016), Something’s Gotta Give (2019) and now Let’s Take A Trip (2026). This past Christmas season in 2025, Anthony Caceres original song The Memories Of Christmas finished in the top 5 on the Roots Christmas pop and jazz charts. Anthony continues to work for the Darden group at Eddie Vs where he is featured as a vocalist and pianist with his trio since 2011, and also regularly appears at The Texas Jazz Festival every year.

Aly Rosa is a Filipino–Puerto Rican vocalist whose musical journey began in the Philippines, where she was raised and first trained in vocal performance at the age of seven. With a foundation in musical theatre, her voice has carried her across East Asia, performing internationally through the Asian Pacific Activities Conference for Choir and Theatre. Her artistry has led her to share the stage with some of the Philippines’ most celebrated vocalists — including Bituin Escalante, Carla Guevara-Laforteza, and Mikkie Bradshaw-Volante — under Repertory Philippines. In 2022, she opened for soul icon Jaya during her U.S. tour. Now based in Austin, Aly continues to evolve as a performer, blending her love for jazz with the storytelling flair of her theatre roots.
