For one night only, frequent musical collaborators Corey Jones and Ethan Kindle bring the spirit of the Jazz Messengers straight to San Antonio. The Send-Off Septet, under the direction of Jones and Kindle, deliver fresh arrangements of post-bop repertoire and modern jazz. Fashioned after Art Blakey’s legendary group, the Jazz Messengers, they aim to celebrate their many musical influences and memorialize the art with a Live record. After several years of deep collaboration on bandstands and in rehearsal rooms throughout the city, the Send-Off Septet is this musical pair’s goodbye letter to the Alamo City.
