Dr. Woody Witt is a Houston-based saxophonist, composer, and educator whose artistry bridges jazz and classical traditions. A Professor of Music at Houston Community College and Instructor of Saxophone at the University of Houston, Woody has performed and recorded with legends such as Randy Brecker, Billy Hart, and David Kikoski. Winner of the 2014 Taichung International Jazz Saxophone Competition, he has released 13 albums as leader or co-leader and over 50 recordings as a sideman, including the chart-topping Pots and Kettles. A longtime performer with the Houston Symphony, Woody has shared the stage with icons like Ray Charles and Tony Bennett. He continues to inspire as a performer, educator, and author of the jazz etude project Stream of Consciousness.
